Things to do in Ghirnatah
Need a retail fix? Head to the Granada Mall, where you’ll find more than 200 stores that include internationally recognised chains, local brands retailers and large supermarkets. It centres around a beautifully designed plaza that features towering palm trees. Kids can let loose in the indoor play area before refuelling at the food court.
Keen golfers should book a round at the Arizona Golf Resort, which was established in 1997 by Mohammed Saad Al Bawardy. Its 9-hole course is well-bunkered and features beautifully maintained greens that are watched over by lush trees and palms. You can practise your swing at the driving range or improve your game with the help of the resort’s friendly PGA professionals.
Ghirnatah also makes an ideal base for visiting World Sights Park, which is home to scale models of famous monuments from Saudi Arabia and beyond. Get up close to the Taj Mahal and the Eiffel Tower, then admire a miniature recreation of Mecca, with the park particularly impressive when illuminated after dark. There’s a small play area for kids and refreshments are available at the on-site cafeteria.
