Things to do in La Rambla
La Rambla artisans have been making beautiful pottery and ceramics for thousands of years. Visit Museo de la Cerámica to see millennia-old bowls, cups and vases. Some of the oldest pieces in the collection date back to the Bronze Age. Purchase one-of-a-kind souvenirs at workshops run by local artisans.
Strolling around La Rambla, you’ll notice landmarks that showcase the town’s ancient past. Next to the Town Hall is Torre de las Monjas, all that remains of the town’s 17th-century Dominican convent. Parroquia Nuestra Señora de la Asunción dates to the 16th century and welcomes visitors with an elaborate carved stone doorway and enormous wooden door. Iglesia de la Santisima Trinidad towers over Plaza del Convento and features a beautiful Renaissance façade.
La Rambla is an excellent base for walks in the Cordoba countryside. Trails wind through the rolling hills, vineyards and olive groves that characterise the region. Venture further afield to explore Parque Natural Sierra de Hornachuelos. The park is a UNESCO Biosphere Reserve and protects a patchwork of oak forests, grasslands and gorges.
From stone-walled taverns to lively tapas bars, there are plenty of places to enjoy traditional cuisine in La Rambla. Try specialties from the Cordoba region like “salmorejo” garlic soup, “migas” fried bread topped with spicy chorizo and “naranja pica” tuna salad tossed with a zesty orange juice dressing. La Rambla is compact and easy to get around on foot. Rental cars offer the freedom to visit La Rambla and explore Cordoba at your own pace. La Rambla is a 1.5-hour drive from Malaga and two hours from Seville. Málaga-Costa del Sol Airport is a 1.5-hour drive away.
