Can't beat the location - can step out right into the beautiful historic Gion district. Kodaiji and Kiyomizu-dera within walking distance. Staff were very friendly and helpful, and speak much better English than those we've come across at other hotels. Really nice cosy tatami room and good window view into the garden (we stayed in Room Hotaru). And loved the pottery ofuro bath they have! Do try it. Would love to come back.
