Didn't really like where we were positioned overlooking the street. In the advertised room we were told we would be on a higher floor with a great view. Paid $449 for the room for one night. The room overall did not look like it had been cleaned before we had moved in from the last people who had stayed there. I mean the bins were emptied etc but room itself looked like it had not been swept/vacuumed or cleaned properly, maybe as they knew we were only staying for one night????? - If so pretty poor. Size of room was adequate and accommodated 5 well, however overall was unclean and poor view for price of room.
really impressed with the pool and best I have seen. the rooms however were dirty and the couches were worn out. the location was good with it being close to everything you need on a holiday.
Room unclean. Had food still stuck on tiled floors, kitchen bench + in dishwasher from previous people. Carpets not clean. Ensuite shower drain blocked. Air con not working. Air con grille fell out onto floor when bedroom door closed. No black out curtains in bedrooms. Windows not sealed + let a draught in (we in 33rd floor). Ripped couches + had old food on them. We let reception know after 1 night's stay about maintenance issues in the room. Housekeeping was meant to come + reclean the room. They never came. Air con guy + maintenance guy very professional. Mantra did give us a night free for the issues. We would never stay here again nor recommend it to anyone.
one of the best hotels in surfers paradise
The location was great, however the website said the mantra had a home theater room but failed to mention it cost extra to use it. There was no light in the rangehood for cooking, the shower head in the ensuite was faulty and leaking water, the bed sheets on the main bed were king size on a queen size bed, there was no plug for the sink and the cycle on the washing machine did not work.I do not normally stay at Mantra because it is usually out of my price bracket so I would expect more for the money.
