We stayed 2nights, the hotel was very cosy and the staff is very friendly. We stayed in both rustic and deluxe and the rustic room we thought was better than deluxe.. the ac and toilet. It was no diffrence. We had a cochroach on visit in a bathroom but that you just have to deal with when you are in Costa Rica their is a lot of animals! We actully saw leatherback turtle when we were here.. went on a tour with leatherback trust volonters! Saw a lot of different animals. playa grande is a small, cosy villiage dont expect much to do. If youvare a restless soal stay only for 2nights. Sadly it will become bigger... they sold several properties to build on, it was heartbreaking to see when all they need to do is to keep this feeling that you are one with nature. Feel soo sad for the animals that this will become larger.. it will destroy the cosy playa grande feeling! Soon every beach in Costa rica will be crowded! The beach in Costa rica is open between 5am-6pm so the turtles can nest in the evenings (thats good but can be better) There was a lot of plastic on the beach and me and my boyfriend try to clean but impossble. They have ONE garbagebag on the whole beach. It can be done so much better. One Costa Rican guy told me that Costa Ricans dont care about the envirement but tourist/people who move here from other contries you are soo caring about the nature and for that we are thankful. We have a lot to learn but in need of money to do so.
