Authentic cuisine is available for every budget, where you can splurge on a Michelin-star restaurant or wolf down a cheap meal at a street tavern. Whatever you do, don’t leave without trying one of the legendary custard tarts from the Pasteis de Belem bakery.
Getting Around
The best way to get around Lisbon is via its extensive public transport network. No trip is complete without riding the vintage trams that rumble their way around the city. Routes through the narrow streets of the Alfama are always popular with sightseers. Local buses run in the metro area, as well as an underground subway.
