    Great Stay!

The room was a good size, the bathroom was big, there was loads of storage if we’d needed it and there was even a small balcony. The location was perfect too. We walked there from Harbour Air easily and it was really easy to walk to the Commodore. We could also walk to Gastown and Yaletown with no problem at all as it was central to all of them. One small criticism would be that I didn’t like the pillows and there wasn’t a choice but it wouldn’t stop me staying there again if we’re looking to stay Downtown.

    Nice Hotel

This is a very nice hotel close to everything in Vancouver. It is just a short 5 minutes walk from the train from the airport and about a 10 minutes walk to Canada Place and the waterfront. There are lots of restaurants and shops nearby. The rooms are a good size and the beds have lovely white ironed sheets and are very comfortable. The bathroom is marble with a separate shower and bath and plenty of space for everything. The towels are white and thick. There are tea and coffee in the room and a fridge. The Concierge staff is very courteous and helpful. The hotel has a nice peaceful ambiance. Check in and check out was swift. Just one small point it would be helpful to have some USB points for charging but there are electrical points. Overall I would certainly recommend this hotel and would not hesitate to return here.

    Great Service

David Lo and Robert, two concierge staff at the Metropolitan were incredibly helpful for cruise-weary, end-of-vacation-tired travelers. After a long journey at sea we had not taken time to review where to eat and walk in Vancouver other than the basic attractions (Waterfront walk along sea wall; Canada Place; walk and ferry to Granville Island and along False Creek to Olympic Village; walk to Gastown, but we didn't make it to Stanley Park). Robert and David made sure we knew if the walks were doable and when to grab a train. David set us up for dinners and even gave us some recipe ideas for when we return home! The hotel is clean, rooms are spacious though not super fancy; the lobby is lovely, the restaurant outstanding for breakfast, (we didn't try it for dinner), and the location is great. Not on the waterfront, but a short walk away and a doable walk to most other attractions. Service from the bellmen to the concierge was top notch when in need of tourism ideas, dining, or hailing cabs.
