About Aracaju

Serving as the capital of Sergipe state since 1855, Aracaju is a lively city on the north-east coast of Brazil. It was originally established in the 17th century as the fishing village of Santo Antônio de Aracaju, with an indigenous Brazilian, João Mulato, as its founder.
