About Brighton

Brighton is an eccentric town with an all-season charm, nestled between the sea and the countryside. From the beautiful Royal Pavilion and Regency architecture to leafy parks that give way to world-class museums, art galleries and nightlife, Brighton offers a treasure trove of cultural attractions.

Things to do

Walk along Brighton Pier to find an array of family-friendly seafront attractions, where you can spend an afternoon playing arcade games and popping into ice cream parlours. For a different perspective of Brighton, visit the British Airways i360 to soak up the iconic seafront from a futuristic glass viewing pod 137 metres high.

Relax on the pebble beach and watch surfers riding the waves and fishermen casting out their lines from the Marina. Afterwards, explore the bohemian backstreets of North Laine and its collection of boutique shops selling chic vintage fashion and locally-made jewellery.

Are you interested in architecture? Visit The Royal Pavilion to admire the city’s most distinctive icon. You can photograph the beautiful domes and minarets that adorn its Indian-themed exterior, then head inside to discover intricate Chinese decor, from flying dragons to hand-painted wallpaper.

Visit the Brighton Museum and Art Gallery, located in Prince Regent’s old stable complex. It features a permanent collection of Egyptian artefacts and post-war British art. Take the kids to the Brighton Toy and Model Museum to browse the collection of stuffed bears, model ships and antique model trains on display.

Getting around

There is an extensive bus network in Brighton and cycling is a popular way to get around. Brighton can be reached by riding trains from London for one hour. You can also travel from Gatwick Airport in less than 30 minutes by train or use the National Express bus system to connect to London and nearby cities.
