Brno puts on many exciting cultural events each year, the most spectacular of which is the Ignis Brunensis firework competition, which puts on a spectacular light show over the city’s skyline and Spilberk Castle.

Public transportation in Brno comprises a network of buses, trains, trams and trolleybuses. The city centre of Brno is compact, so it’s also easy to explore on foot. The nearest airport to the city is Brno-Turany Airport, which is 7.5 kilometres from the city, or you can arrive at Václav Havel Airport Prague and travel to Brno by train, coach or car.
