About Bryce

Bryce Canyon City is a gateway to one of the most spectacular national parks in the United States. You’re a stone’s throw from Bryce Canyon National Park, where you can discover towering rock spires, verdant juniper forests and high-altitude desert plateaus.

Things to do in Bryce

Exploring Bryce Canyon National Park feels like you’re travelling to the moon. The park is famous for its otherworldly landscapes, including thousands of enormous sandstone and limestone rock towers called “hoodoos”. A scenic driving route winds through the park and takes you to a series of spectacular lookouts where you can marvel at the geological wonders.

A network of trails cross-cross the park and are a great way to escape the crowded viewpoints. The Rim Trail is one of the most popular and skirts the edge of the larger-than-life Bryce Amphitheatre studded with hoodoos. Other trails take you through lush Dixie National Forest.

Bryce Wildlife Adventure is packed with dioramas featuring hundreds of animals from across the globe. There’s a fantastic collection of colourful butterflies and insects, as well as some fascinating Native American artefacts. The museum rents ATVs, which can be a fun way to explore the rugged trails around Bryce Canyon National Park. There’s a chance to spot deer, elk and antelope grazing in the desert.

The stargazing in Bryce Canyon is spectacular, with the chance to see thousands of individual stars, the Milky Way and several planets. Join a ranger-led stargazing program hosted at the national park and take part in a full moon hike.

Getting around Bryce

Bryce Canyon City is compact and easy to get around on foot, though you’ll need a car to visit surrounding sights and attractions. The Bryce Canyon Shuttle is an easy and eco-friendly way to explore the park and access popular lookouts and trailheads. The city is a 4.5-hour drive from Harry Reid International Airport in Las Vegas.
