Set on a trio of islands, Frederiksborg Slot is one of the most spectacular buildings in Denmark. The Renaissance castle dates back to the 17th century and encircled by a storybook moat. Stroll around the enormous central courtyards and get lost in the magnificent Baroque gardens. The adorable Frederiksborg Ferry sails around the main lake and treats you to postcard-perfect views of the castle.

Explore sun-dappled trails in Gribskov, one of the largest forests in Denmark. Part of Kongernes Nordsjælland National Park, the forest protects more than 5,500 hectares of woodland.
