About Kopaonik

Forming part of Serbia’s largest mountain range, Kopaonik is one of the biggest ski resorts in Southeast Europe. It boasts the longest artificial ski slope on the continent and is on the doorstep of a national park that provides habitat for wild cats, red deers and the endemic Balkan postman butterfly.

Skiers and snowboarders can take advantage of Kopaonik’s 55 kilometres of downhill trails, which wind along the slopes of Pančic's Peak. Both on and off the slopes are plenty of eateries where you can dine throughout the day, including Nije Dugme, Pajino Preslo and the Planinski Bar MONS.

Rafters can test their skills on the rapids of the Samokovska River while hikers can admire the multi-tiered waterfall of Jelovarnik. A short drive north of Kopaonik is the spa town of Jošanička Banja whose enticingly warm baths are surrounded by a forest of black pine.

Getting there

Kopaonik is around 2.5 hours’ drive from Niš and Niš Constantine the Great Airport, which has flights to destinations across Europe. Renting a car is the most convenient way of getting to Kopaonik and the ski slopes are well served by chair lifts. Kopaonik village is small enough to explore on foot.
