About Marsalforn

Marsalforn combines the atmosphere of a seaside town with the charm of a working fishing village. It’s set on a sheltered bay and is a great base to explore the island of Gozo and the Maltese archipelago. Bask on sun-drenched beaches, stroll along the seafront promenade and enjoy a bounty of fresh Mediterranean seafood.

Things to do in Marsalforn

Marsalforn Beach wraps around the bay and is fringed by a strip of golden sand. Rent a sun lounger or roll out your towel on the sand. Cool off in the translucent water and make a splash with activities like kayaking and pedal boating. Other parts of the bay are framed by flat rocks. These sections are great if you want to escape the crowds and enjoy a private sunbathing session.

Marsalforn is home to a working fishing boat fleet which means the seafood is as fresh as it gets. Dine at local restaurants and try Maltese specialties like “quarnita-bit-tewm” sautéed octopus, “insalata tal-bakkaljaw” salt cod salad and “pulpetti tal-makku” whitebait fritters seasoned with mint, parsley and lemon juice.

Set sail on a scenic cruise around Gozo. Spend the day swimming in crystalline lagoons and snorkelling with colourful fish. Some trips head to the neighbouring island of Comino, where you can swim in the postcard-perfect Blue Lagoon. The white-sand seabed reflects sunlight and creates a dazzling effect.

Strap on scuba diving gear and explore the vibrant marine ecosystems that surround Marsalforn. From sun-dappled underwater caverns to rock walls teeming with sea life, you’ll be amazed at the world-class dive sites on Goza.

Getting around Marsalforn
