The state has extensive public transportation networks that make getting around easy. The NJ Transit bus network operates all over the state, while there are also multiple train networks from New York and Philadelphia.

Despite its relatively small size, New Jersey is one of the most populous states in the United States and has played an important part in its history, including being the site of many crucial battles during the American Revolutionary War. A key centre of the Industrial Revolution, New Jersey underwent significant growth and transformed into a modern and culturally diverse state.
