About Repulse Bay

Repulse Bay is a resort area located in the southern district of Hong Kong Island. The bay is a popular area for swimming and watersports, and its horseshoe-shaped beach is known to be one of the most beautiful in Hong Kong. Reaching Repulse Bay from central Hong Kong is easy. There are frequent bus services which operate from Exchange Square bus terminal near MTR Hong Kong Station. This bus transports visitors to the stop at Repulse Bay Beach. The journey takes around 50 minutes by bus, alternatively, opt to travel by taxi which takes 20 minutes.

Repulse Bay was an area frequented by pirates during the 1800s, and during the 1900s the bay beach was constructed. During the Second World War, in the Battle of Hong Kong, the area was a strategic location. Today, Repulse Bay is well known for its beautiful crescent beach, cafes, shops, and restaurants. It is the perfect place for relaxation and rejuvenation for both locals and visitors to Hong Kong Island.
