Stretch your legs on the Downtown San Angelo River Walk. It skirts the banks of the Concho and takes you past beautiful parks and gardens. For a full-day adventure, spend the day in San Angelo State Park. The park is built around a reservoir and protects more than 3,000 hectares of forests and plains. Ranger-led tours get you up close with enormous Texas longhorn cattle and bison. On the family-friendly Dinosaur Trail, you’ll see fossilised footprints that date back to the Permian Age.
Getting around San Angelo
San Angelo is pedestrian-friendly and easy to get around on foot, especially in the Concho Avenue Historic District. Rental cars offer the freedom to explore Tom Green County at your own pace. Dallas/Fort Worth International Airport is a four-hour drive away.
