Boat tours depart from Sayulita and whisk you to the postcard-perfect Marieta Islands. Snorkel in crystalline water, bask on deserted beaches and spot wildlife such as dolphins and humpback whales.
Sayulita is dotted with galleries and gift shops where you can buy colourful indigenous art. You’ll also find excellent cafes and restaurants in the village, serving everything from fish tacos and salt-rimmed margaritas to America-style burgers and pizza. Find some of the best restaurants along Calle Delfines, a cobblestone thoroughfare decorated with colourful flags.
Getting there
Sayulita is located in the state of Nayarit, a 40-minute drive from Puerto Vallarta. Taxis are a fast and affordable way to travel between Sayulita and Puerto Vallarta Airport. The town is compact and easy to get around on foot.
