About Verbier

Forming part of the 4 Vallees ski area, Verbier is one of the world’s leading off-piste resorts. Located in the Swiss Alps, it lies on a terrace facing the Grand Combin massif, with steep slopes and majestic scenery adding to its appeal.

Dominating the village skyline is the Eglise de Verbier Station, which was designed by the Geneva-based architect Jean Ellenberger in the 1950s. Topped by a striking bell tower, it regularly hosts chamber music and vocal recitals. Nearby is the Centre Culturel du Hameau, which presents exhibitions about the area’s cultural and artistic heritage.

In the winter months, you can hit the downhill runs of the 4 Vallees ski area, which boasts more than 400 kilometres of trails. Once the snow melts, many of these transform into hiking and mountain biking routes. For spectacular views of the Matterhorn and Mont-Blanc, climb to the summit of Mont Fort.

Getting there

Verbier is around 35 minutes’ drive from Martigny and just under two hours from Geneva International Airport, which has flights to destinations across the globe. The Mont-Blanc Express connects to the Martigny railway station, from where Verbier can be reached by train and cable car.
