About Eidsvoll Verk

Eidsvoll is a picturesque town set on the River Andelva. The centuries-old town has a special place in the hearts of Norwegians, as it was where the constitution was signed in 1814. Things to do in Eidsvoll Verk

The handsome Eidsvollsbygningen building has been reimagined as a democracy museum and offers a behind-the-scenes glimpse of where the Constitution of Norway was signed in the 19th century. Just outside the churchyard, the Tingvoll monument marks the site where Norwegian leaders would pass laws and settle disputes in medieval times.

Skibladner, one of the oldest paddle steamers in the world, sails up the River Andelva and calls at Eidsvoll during the summer months. The beautifully restored vessel is more than 165 years old and is a fantastic way to enjoy the river and discover Lake Mjøsa, one of the largest and deepest lakes in Norway. You’ll love cruising on the cobalt-blue water and admiring the picture-perfect scenery.

Galleri Festiviteten occupies a beautiful historic building and showcases works by Norwegian artists. Browse arts, crafts and jewellery at the gift store and enjoy coffee and cake at the riverside café. Galleri Festiviteten also moonlights as a venue for concerts, markets and community events.
