Things to do in Hunei District

Once a former salt pond, Qieding Wetlands is now one of the top urban birding destinations in Taiwan. It’s an important migration ground for black-faced spoonbills, as well as other species like the purple heron and glossy ibis. Some birds come as far as Siberia to spend the winter in the Qieding Wetlands.

A sandy beach and leafy palms give Jiading Coast Park a tropical feel. Stroll along the beach and stay for sunset to watch the sun sink into the South China Sea. On weekends, you can buy drinks and snacks from street food vendors.
