It’s a short stroll from Redfern’s Cottage, which houses a museum detailing the people, events and industries that have shaped Uttoxeter. In addition to its fascinating collection of artefacts, it houses rare documents related to the town.

A short drive north of Uttoxeter are the remains of Croxden Abbey, which was founded in 1176 by a group of Cistercian monks. Following its suppression in the 16th century, it was transformed into a farm, with only remnants of its church, infirmary and abbot’s lodge remaining today. Informative signboards detailing the abbey’s history and architecture dot the site.
