Also known as the “Singapore Street Circuit”, the Marina Bay Street Circuit is about five kilometres long and is an iconic venue for the Singapore Grand Prix and Formula 1 motor racing competitions. It’s located in Marina Bay and features a number of challenging corners and a few harbourside straights.
The best time to experience the Marina Bay Street Circuit is during one of the fast-paced races at the Singapore Grand Prix or Formula 1. The track has the capacity to fit 90,000 spectators and is often lined with grandstand areas and trackside food stalls and bars. It’s broken up into various sectors, with the Esplanade, Singapore Sling and Memorial Corner areas some of the most popular.
After the racing action, you can venture from the circuit to one of the nearby attractions, such as the Singapore Flyer, Suntec City entertainment centre or The Float @ Marina Bay outdoor stage. There are also restaurants within walking distance, including No Signboard Seafood At Esplanade.
Getting there
The Marina Bay Street Circuit is about two kilometres from the Downtown Core or 20 kilometres from Singapore Changi Airport. The best way to get there is by catching the Circle Line or Downtown Line to the Promenade subway station and walking 750 metres.
